Information for Speakers

Page history last edited by Julie Choe 10 years, 2 months ago

Dear Careers for Bioscience Ph.D.s Speakers for Spring 2014,

Here is the rundown for the class:

When: All the classes will be on Tuesdays, beginning with snacks/pizza/food and drinks at 6pm, followed by speakers from 6:15 until around 8pm.

Where: We will be meeting on the Berkeley Campus in 101 Barker Hall.  Barker Hall is at the Southeast corner of Oxford and Hearst and can be found on this campus map.

What: Each speaker will have the floor for around half an hour. No special preparation or presentation materials are necessary.  Speakers usually spend about 15 minutes explaining their background, how they got their positions, a typical day in their current job (hours, who you work with, etc.) and the pros and cons of their work. We keep it very informal, and students will probably jump in with questions throughout and at the end.

Parking/Transportation:  Nearby street parking is free after 6pm. If you would like to park on campus for the day that you speak, please e-mail with your mailing address, and our administrative office will mail it to you directly.  The closest on campus parking is the Genetics Parking Structure, located just east of Oxford on Berkeley Way.  Alternatively you can take BART.

Thank you again for sharing your time with us!

Thank you!

Julie & Rob
